Biology Background Leads to Innovation in Sustainability Efforts
“Making wine more sustainably is the right thing to do. Additionally, it is something that our custom crush clients are seeking, so this keeps us competitive in the marketplace,” said Joe Dobbes, Founder, Dobbes Family Estate.
Dobbes Family Estate is relatively new to the sustainability movement, but they’re embracing it whole heartedly. They are continually exploring new research on was to make wine in more sustainable ways. Some of this interest stems from Joe Dobbes’ background in biology. “I have always been interested in environmental sciences, alternative energy, gray water and rain water reclamation,”Dobbes explained. “We also have plans to add solar panels.”
Dobbes Family Estate is educating consumers about these efforts. Dobbes feels that’s it’s very important that consumers perceive Dobbes Family Estate as a business that not only makes quality wines, but are responsible environmental stewards.
